Council District #13 in The Bronx: : Pelham Parkway North and South, Pelham Bay, Country Club, City Island, Throggs Neck, Allerton, and Morris Park.
A proud United States Citizen born in Colombia, Alex immigrated at the age of 5 with his two siblings and their single mother; raised in the South Bronx, Alex learned early on the value of hard work, teamwork, and perseverance. He graduated at the top of his high school class, all while working a part-time job, volunteering in his community and working as a Youth Minister in the South Bronx.
Alex's academic prowess and leadership abilities earned him a scholarship to a top school in the field of Arts, where he studied and majored in Architecture. After leaving school, Alex spent the next two decades in the Social Service field working with New York City's youthful offenders, and under employed and unemployed youth, young adults and adults; in addition to volunteering for a variety of charitable causes. He currently works for one of New York City's top Non-Profits as the Program Director of (one of) the largest Supportive Housing Programs (working with adults diagnosed with Mental Illnesses and Substance Abuse / Chemical Dependencies) in the Bronx, NY. In the fall of 2012 Alex returned to school to pursue a degree in Political Science at CUNY Lehman College in the Bronx, NY.
Since 2010, Alex has been a proud home owner who resides in the Throggs Neck (East Tremont) section of the Bronx, New York (City Council District 13) with his lovely wife, Rosa, and their four children, Caitlin, Inaya, Jacob, and Caleb. Alex is a born-again Christian.
Today, Alex wants to serve as your voice in City Hall. A voice that echoes your concerns. A voice that matters. A voice that cares.
